The XRDS25 visual identity originates from Sovrumana Celestialis, an ongoing research project by artist Andrea Avellino. Developed over a period of three years, the work explores how digital tools can simulate organic matter, bodily textures and plant-like growth. Through thousands of generative experiments, Avellino constructed a fictional anatomy that navigates the boundary between human and synthetic form.
To translate this visual world into the XRDS framework, Margaux Lallart turned the material into a functional identity. As XRDS’s in-house designer, she shaped the visual output through typography, composition and consistent application across all artworks.
A behind-the-scenes look at the process is now available through video footage. The images show how abstract ideas gradually evolved into the visual language XRDS25 presents today.
